Though classic rock Twitter fanpage @historyrock_ may have intended to celebrate Led Zeppelin founder and guitarist’s 80 birthday on Tuesday, one element of their touching tribute managed to steal the show — the fact that Page was posing with his girlfriend, not his granddaughter.



“Happy 80th birthday to the legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page,” they captioned their re-upload of the photo depicting the musician and his 34-year-old girlfriend, Scarlet Sabet, standing arm-in-arm over cake and festive beverages.


Though the snap in question originally dates back to 2019, when Sabet, a British-born poet, rang in her 30th birthday, several fans were still surprised at their 45-year age gap, offering a resounding “huh?” in @historyrock_’s replies.



“Wow, he’s so old he’s dating women in their thirties instead of teenagers now,” joked one commenter.


“Thought Bill finally got Hillary up outta here,” wrote a second, while a third commended Sabet’s apparent act of kindness.


“How kind of his granddaughter to pop in to check up on him,” they wrote.


We can only hope that Scarlet actually did something nice to mark her much older man’s special day … there has to be some bulk discount on Viagra.
